UCLA graduate Kim Blank boasts a career that spans over 3 decades, from Jane Fonda’s Workout in the late 80s, to developing her fitness technique, World Beat Workout.
Having trained in Cecchetti ballet, jazz, modern, Latin dance, the Feldenkrais Method® and renowned choreographers such as Michael Peters, Vincent Paterson, Jaime Rogers and Bill and Jacqui Landrum, Kim soon became a successful dancer, taking part in iconic music videos for Michael Jackson (“Thriller”) and Lionel Richie (“Dancing on the Ceiling”, among others) and earning an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Choreography in the HBO film Introducing Dorothy Dandrindge, starring Halle Berry. Most recently, she choreographed episodes for the Netflix series “Grace & Frankie” and “Legion”.
Kim is one of the founding members of DAA’s faculty, teaching jazz at DAA for the first 7 years since Carla Luna opened its doors in the year 2000.
