Emily Mikolitch, a Dallas native and graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and Television. She has studied tap dance internationally, most notably at the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, and has performed at renowned venues such as the Kennedy Center in DC, the Public Theater in NYC, Walt Disney World in Florida, as well as in Dubai, UAE as one of Chloe Arnold’s Syncopated Ladies.
At the age of 15, Emily began teaching tap dance around North Texas, and has gone on to share her love of teaching with students at the Rhythm in Fusion Festival in Dallas, the Monday Night Tap Experience (at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy), Cascadia Dance & Film Festival in Vancouver, and the Syncopated Ladies Bootcamp in Dubai, among others. At UCLA, she co-founded the school’s only pre-professional tap group: the Bruin Rhythm Project. She has worked as a guest artist/choreographer with the Rhythmic Souls Tap Company since 2013 and has been commissioned for her choreography around the United States for dancers in Florida, California, Texas and Ohio.
She is a 2013 YoungArts winner in dance and was selected a 2016 Regional Dance America Emerging Choreographer.
When Emily isn’t tap dancing, she can be found working in feature film production where she has dreams to showcase the art form at the highest level across major media platforms to a widespread audience.
